The Electric Guitar Sound The design of loudspeakers for the electric guitar is a distinct art. Unlike those engineered for most other applications, the guitar loudspeaker is not required simply to reproduce sound, but is itself part of the sound producing mechanism. The characteristics of the speaker play an active and significant role in determining the tonal qualities and the power and attack of both the player and the instrument. |

The
best musical instrument loudspeaker must therefore incorporate the highest
possible electro-acoustic conversion efficiency and must be precisely
contoured in terms of frequency response and transient capability to suit
the type of instrument and application and to align with required tonal
characteristics in guitar sound. Fane audio design engineers have for
many decades monitored the musical world through constant contact with
professional artists worldwide, ensuring that the requirements of the
modern professional can be translated into acoustic reality through Fane
professional instrument loudspeakers. Vintage manufacturers such as Carlsbro,
Custom Sound, HiWatt, Jennings, Laney, Orange, Sound City, Studiomaster,
Trace Elliot, Vox and W.E.M., and many others, could all testify to the
accuracy of these claims. Consequently, our AXIOM Guitar Series represents
an expanded range of precision designed, superbly engineered, high powered
musical instrument loudspeakers, each model individually and painstakingly
researched and developed by professionals for professionals, to provide
ultimate performance and ultimate satisfaction, for artist and audience
alike. The AlNico Magnet Loudspeaker Much of the unique sound of the legendary
guitarists of the sixties Rock scene originated from the now long extinct
cobalt magnet speaker with its fragile paper voice-coil, which gave a
near-ideal mix of tonal nuance and overdrive harmonics. Rising material
costs and the demand for higher power units saw the permanent demise from
the music scene of these revered relics of a fabulous decade in music
legend. Since then, despite many attempts, few really successful replacements
have been produced. However, new design technology allied with field trials
by leading and respected guitarists has produced a speaker which faithfully
recreates, with power and economy, the subtle tonal colours and overdrive
characteristics of the most sought-after guitar sounds of all time. Two
models now feature prominently in Fanes AXIOM Guitar Series, each sporting
the distinctive vintage steel magnet cover.
